Chiropractor Questions Back aches

Pop in mid back like a balloon

My husband was rubbing my back and as he got to the middle, he and I both felt something pop. To me it felt like a water ballon popped inside me and I could actually feel a fluid running to both sides. No pain really just a warm fluid feeling. What could this have been? I do have neck and low back issues, but have never had a MRI done on the middle of my back.

Complaint duration: 1 year
Conditions: Herniated discs in neck and L3-L4 L4-L5, thyroid needs removed, diabetes, high blood pressure, always have high white blood count for years (reason unknown)

Hello
Could be a number of reasons. Best to consult a chiropractic physician to further assist you.
Please keep an eye on your mid back, it might be nothing or it miught be that he squished a little blood vessel. the warm feeling is usually inflammation but if it was a small vessel it will heal by itself. If the pain continues please call your medical doctor.
Unfortunately from the symptoms you explained the likelihood of that event being a disc injury from my experience is rather high. X rays and MRI are a good idea.
You would need an exam to determine what it is.
Glad there's no pain...It'd probably be a good idea to get a CT done.
Thank you for your question.
Typically the “popping” sensation is air/gas being released from the joint. Kind of like cracking your knuckles. When we pop our joints, we are releasing gas that’s been accumulated in the joints. As for the warm fluid, some times inflammation can build up in specific areas in our spine due to a subluxation or misalignment, and when you popped your back, the inflammation could have permeated throughout your low back. Also, Inflammation more often can produce heat and fluid (edema).
Hopefully it was just a joint cavitating or adjusting. With your history, it would be best to see a chiropractor as soon as possible just to be safe.
