Dermatologist Questions Rash and painful gland

Rash and painful gland

A few days ago I noticed a series of bumps near my buttox. It seems to be localized around the groin area only in 2 or 3 different spots. The bumps are not particularly itchy but they are slightly painful and my left lymph node is a bit swollen and painful to touch.

The painful bumps near your buttocks and swollen lymph node could be signs of folliculitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, or even a bacterial infection. The swollen lymph node indicates your body may be fighting an infection or inflammation.

It's important not to pop or scratch the bumps, as that can worsen the irritation or cause an infection. I recommend seeing a dermatologist to properly diagnose and treat the condition.
