Seborrheic dermatitis?

I have the above on my forehead. With this condition is it best to treat the oil or the dry flakes with moisturizing? It's dry and oily at the same time! Do you suggest exfoliating? I seem to be on a vicious circle with it. Clears, flakes, clears, flakes. Appreciate any advice.

If seborrheic dermatitis is the true dx, then treatment of the underlying condition is paramount. Start with a good shampoo (Rx or over the counter type such as Head and Shoulders or other zinc shampoo). Treat both the scalp and forehead with frequent shampooing. The rash on the forehead will also clear more rapidly with use of OTC cortisone cream as needed for short periods of time.
This needs prescription medicine to help. See your dermatologist for medication. Over-the-counter meds and moisturizers only cover it, but don’t treat it.
