Severe vision issue?

The other day I was sitting in the car when out of nowhere my vision became so bright that I could hardly keep my eyes open, accompanied by hearing distortion (I was listening to music at the time and the music started to sound distorted and lower in volume). Soon after this occurred I began to have cold sweats and signs of what I would call panic or feelings of despair. From the research I've done, I could only come to the conclusion it was a severe drop in blood pressure or blood sugar levels. If you could please give me insight as to what might be the cause of this please let me know asap because it was a feeling that scared me to my soul and I don't want a repeat if at all possible.

This sounds like what is called a vasovagal attack. Its a common response to fear, excitement or other extreme event. Its an ancient evolutionary reflex to protect oneself when being attacked by a predator, ie, playing dead. If it continues, you should see a neurologist for an evaluation. August L. I would recommend seeing your primary care doctor. If your vision does not clear or gets worse you need to see an ophthalmologist. Hi, I am not sure what happened, it could have been a drop in your blood pressure, or sugar, or it could have been high blood pressure. The best thing to do is to go to your primary and start the ball rolling, you need to have blood work done, and to rule out different issues. Its good that it did not last that long. You could have also had an unusual migraine. Bes bet is to go and get a physical, and let them rule out the different possibilities.
Seek help from your primary care doctor. Complete blood work-up needs to be done immediately.
It can be a type of migraine with a visual aura. You should get checked out by your primary care doctor and your eye doctor to rule out other issues.
Those are certainly possible, could have also been a migraine. At your age, stroke is highly unlikely. You should see a general doctor and let them know.

Depending on how long this happened for, it could have also been a migraine. There are different types of migraines; but, I would strongly suggest a visit to your primary care doctor to determine the root cause or to at least get the ball rolling to determine the root cause of this episode.
