Shingle vaccine?

Can you take a shingle vaccine at the age of 38? Why did my doctor give me one I know she said because I had chicken pops but I just did some research and it said you should get shot around 50 years old.

The only reason I could see your doctor giving you the Shingle vaccine is if she believed you or you have known immunocompromised condition. Otherwise, it is routinely provided for patients 50 years and older with two doses.
