General Anesthesia normally is best for 3rd molar extractions. This type of extraction can be quite difficult for the patient as well as for the Dentist. Patient comfort may not be optimum, so General Anesthesia helps tremendously. The procedure is done while the patient is asleep, so it can be done quicker and easier.
I would recommend general anesthesia.
This is a personal decision. If you are not nervous about dental procedures in general, then local anesthesia may be fine for you. You should prepare yourself for feelings of uncomfortable pressure. However, if you tend to get nervous before dental appointments or thinking about dental procedures, then general anesthesia might be the right choice for you!
