If it is truly just a bruised ankle then you should be fine. If there is any fracture or ligament damage I would suggest seeing a specialist. The
You can as long as it is just a bruise. The more you walk on it the more it will swell. However, if the bruise is from an injury then you should be x-rayed to be sure there is no fracture, and if fractured then you shouldn't be walking on it.

Hi! I would recommend having the area evaluated, especially if you have pain while walking.
I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment options. Until that time, I would limit how much time you are on the ankle.
If you CAN walk on a sprained/bruised ankle, that is usually an indication that it is not fractured. But it could still be fractured. I would say if the pain lasts more than 5-7 days, you should visit a medical professional to have the ankle examined and likely should also have some imaging studies done to insure there is not a fracture or other pathology associated with the fracture
