“Strep causing hives?”
My son was misdiagnosed on 12/16 with an ear infection. I took him back this morning after hives from head to toe now they say it is strep. Is this another misdiagnosis?

Medications: Just started amoxicillin
Conditions: Asthma, Kawasaki disease

I can't say that your child was misdiagnosed - he may have had the ear infection - completed the course of antibiotics for that then/now has strep throat (generally diagnosed via a strep test) - the hives may be from the strep throat tho usually hives are the result of a viral infection or, if the child is currently taking a medication, might be secondary to the medication.
