Sublingular(?) ranula?

I have had a ranula under my tongue for going on almost a year now. Why is it that when I drink alcoholic beverages it seems to shrink significantly? Similarly, only certain foods make it swell up like I can eat a whole pint of ice cream and no change occurs but Taco Bell (specifically) and lumpia cause it to swell up significantly.

A ranula is a benign condition and is the result of an obstructed spit gland. Sometimes they can become quite large but rarely are they painful. If a problem they can be incised and drained but rarely do they need to be excised.
Because spicy food irritates and aggravates the lesion, stay away from spicy food. and anti-inflammatory for a bit. lesions should disappear.
