Untreated dental abscess?

I am 69 years old. I have an untreated dental abscess that had spread to my brain. Do I still have to have the teeth removed? I want to be checked out but the hospital will not see me because I have no fever. My Hypothalamus which regulates the body temp is suppressing my body temp.

Tooth should still be removed, it is the source of the infection.
What you have is the same as having a splinter in your hand, and leaving it long enough to start getting gangrene. Would you remove the splinter? Would it get better if you left it?
Sorry to hear of your dental issues. Unfortunately, the only way to treat a dental abscess is to have a root canal or have the tooth removed. I suggest you see a dentist as soon as possible.
Hello, Yes it is important to treat an abscessed tooth to prevent further infection into your body.

There is no question that the bad teeth need help. They are probably beyond what root canals could help. You need to have your MD and your DDS discuss your case to determine what is best for you. Ignoring the bad teeth is WRONG!
Dear question person,

An untreated dental abscess that pierces the barrier to the brain is a life-threatening event. You will probably need antibiotics and the tooth may be treated in a number of ways, one of which is extraction. Sometimes a drain can be placed to lesson the abscess. You need to see a dentist, oral surgeon, possibly an endodontist, and a head and neck physician specialist to work together as a team to get you better.
