No antibiotic is necessary for extraction unless the dentist decides you may need to have one.
It depends on the situation. Most routine extractions do not require antibiotics. Your dentist or oral surgeon will determine what is the correct medication, if any, for you.
Do not always need an antibiotic for an extraction.
Amoxicillin is the first antibiotic of choice for dental infections. Azithromycin is used for patients with allergies to Amoxicillin or penicillin. Just because you are having an extraction that doesn't mean you need an antibiotic.
