1.Persistent or severe tooth pain. Pain that lingers for days or wakes you up at night. Get worse when you chew or apply pressure. May radiate to your jaw, ear or head. 2.Prolonged sensitivity to Hot or Cold. Sensitivity that lasts ore than a few seconds after removing the stimulus. For example pain from hot coffee or cold water that lingers. 3.Swelling and tenderness. Swollen gums around the affected tooth. Tenderness or a small pimplelike bump gum boil on the gums may leak pus. 4.Tooth discoloration. The tooth may darken or appear gray, indicating pulp damage or dying tissue. 5.Bad taste or odor. A foul taste in your mouth or bad breath that doesn't go away could suggest infection and drainage for the tooth. 6. Cracked or chipped tooth. If a crack exposes the pulp, bacteria can enter and infect the nerve. 7.Loose tooth. Infected pulp can lead to bone loss, making the tooth to feel loose.
