I would consult with your PCP about that. As a Chiropractor it is not in my scope of practice to prescribe or give advice on anything related to medications.
Start low, go slow, and understand your symptoms. Sharp pain, stabbing, neurological, radiating, positional, activity related, etc. Rest, ice first 24hr then heat, gentle movement/stretches. Start with OTC NSAIDs, Tylenol, ASA, herbals, topicals, CBD, etc. May need to progress to other medication options, like muscle relaxants, anticonvulsants, prescriptions for stronger analgesics, tramadol then opioids. Be confident you are masking a pain you can mask and not mask a pain you should be working up or evaluating.
Chiropractors do not prescribe medications. We recommend an herbal blend called Zyflamend from New Chapter. We have used this supplement successfully.
Generally speaking, the over the counter medications such as Tylenol are safe if taken as directed. Make sure to discuss any medication with your primary care physician before taking it.
