What are the side effects of a CT scan?

I am a 16 year old female. I want to know what are the side effects of a CT scan?

The potential side effects of a CT scan include exposure to ionizing radiation, which carries a low risk of developing cancer, and allergic reactions to the contrast dye used. Rare complications such as kidney problems, infection, bleeding, or injury at the injection site may occur. However, the majority of individuals who undergo CT scans experience no side effects or complications.

There are no side effects for a non contrast CT. There are no side effects for a contrast CT but many people feel warm from the contrast. Occasionally some individuals may have an allergic reaction to the injected contrast. Hopefully, that is discussed by the CT team or other radiology personnel at the time before the exam.
