What are the side effects of tubal ligation?

I am scheduled for a tubal ligation next month. I am 100% sure about this procedure and do not want to have biological children. However, someone mentioned something called post tubal ligation syndrome, and I am now very worried about having serious hormonal side effects after the surgery, increasing my risk of cancer or diseases, or affecting my overall health.

Post-tubal ligation syndrome is uncommon, most people have very satisfactory results from a tubal ligation and it provides reliable contraception. Many women can get increasingly painful periods as they age, and sometimes this can coincide with when a tubal takes place, some may attribute the pain to the tubal, but it may be more related to other changes in the uterus that can offer over time and after pregnancy. If you’re not certain about the procedure, an IUD is another excellent option that also generally makes menstrual cycles go away if a progesterone IUD is used.
I would recommend getting both your Fallopian tubes removed since that decreases your risk of ovarian cancer. Removing Fallopian tubes does not affect your mood since ovaries are responsible for hormone production in your body. That being said, chances of regret are higher if you have permanent sterilization before age 30. I have seen this time and again. Use long-term, reversible contraception options like progesterone IUD till age 30, if you still strongly feel about permanent sterilization then, you can go ahead.
Good luck!

If the surgery goes well, there are no hormonal side effects. Please do not worry about any side effects, I am sure your gyno surgeon will do their best.
