Avoid foods that worsen your reflux and try eating 3 hours before laying flat and sleeping.
You don't need to and you shouldn't eat before bed if you have acid reflux, i.e. ,heartburn. It would be best to have an empty stomach when you go to bed, and you need at least 4 hrs to empty the stomach of food depending on the size and the caloric load of the meal. For heartburn at night despite not eating, you may need to have evaluation for hiatal hernia and you can consider bedtime treatment with an antacid like pepcid.
You should have at least 3 hours from your last meal and bed time. Try to avoid spicy food, caffeine, smoking and alcohol. use 2 pillows at bed to be semi flat. Also have small frequent meal not a large meal.
