Please check on AAPM&R - American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - to find out what a physiatrist can diagnose.

Yours sincerely,

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physicians, also known as *physiatrists*, treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. They are MDs and can diagnose anything in their respected field of specialization.
Acute and chronic neurological musculoskeletal diseases; regenerative medicines such as hair loss, ED, etc.
A physiatrist can diagnose any musculoskeletal or spine related issue as well as certain nerve related injuries especially when connected with occupational, motor vehicle accident, or sports injuries. There are certain brain disorders that a physiatrist can also diagnose.
A physiatrist is a term used for physicians trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation. We are trained to addressed many conditions such as lumbar disc disorders, osteoarthritis, and even tennis elbow. Most musculoskeletal conditions can be diagnosed and treated as part of your medical team.
A physiatrist is a specialist in nerve and musculoskeletal injuries. We can diagnose and treat back, neck, and joint pain issues, headaches, neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome, and other nerve entrapment issues. Some physiatrists also specialize in and treat traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries.

I am a medical doctor primarily treating musculoskeletal and neurological diseases, sports, work and other injuries. I also treat patients with pain. Frequent diagnoses I see include neck and back pain, herniated discs, pinched nerves, rotator cuff injuries, osteoarthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, as well as many other conditions.

I hope this helps!
