What causes knee pain in the morning?

I always wake up with a sore right knee. I don't exercise a lot and can't imagine what would strain my leg. Should I see a doctor?

Yes, seeing a physician and having weight bearing X-rays is a good idea. Intraosseous hypertension does exist and causes pain, it is an early type of osteoarthritis.
