I am a 25 year old female. I want to know what causes postpartum psychosis?

Postpartum psychosis can be caused by the hormonal imbalances following birth.

It is not clear whether you are asking for yourself or someone else. Who diagnosed it as a postpartum psychosis? Did this person have a history of depressive disorder or Bipolar disorder before the pregnancy? Is this their first delivery or have they had children before this delivery? Was there any postpartum mood disorder before this delivery? There are so many questions to which I do not have answers to. So, you may want to check with the person's Gynecologist, their endocrinologist, PCP and/or their psychiatrist regarding this issue and find out the cause of the "postpartum psychosis" and the appropriate treatment.
