Adolescent Psychiatrist Questions Adolescent Psychiatry

What do I do about this?

So, I've been talking to myself and hearing voices that tell me bad things to do to myself. I talk back, telling them to shut up, but it's like they don't hear me. And I can't physically hear them though. But they're there, and it's me, but not me.

Female | 13 years old
Complaint duration: 30/04/2022
Medications: Concerta, Abilify, Prozac
Conditions: Depression, ADHD, Anxiety.

Thanks for reaching out, your concerts might make you have psychotic features like this. Also your depression can make you feel like this. Depending on what is causing it, you will need your meds adjusted.

Hope that helps

Dear 13 y/o girl,
I understand what you are saying and I know it can be very upsetting. Since I do not know where you live, it is difficult to advise you. I imagine you are seeing a doctor. I would reccoemnd you see an experienced Adolescent Psychiatrist. If there is a medical School near you, I would ask to be seen by their Psychiatry department. It would also help to have regular (weekly?) psychotherapy where you can talk with someone who can understand compassionate the problems. Sincerely, David Lifschutz, MD
I would recommend seeing your pediatrician or psychiatrist as soon as you can.
