The feeling can be different for people. It can be extremely sensitive to air, temperature change. Crying pain. Go to a dentist and get an X-ray asap.
An exposed nerve in a tooth will most probably cause you constant pain that becomes sharper when exposed to heat and cold.
If the nerve is exposed during a dental treatment, you are numb and theoretically will not have any pain. If you break a tooth and nerve gets exposed, you will have soreness and sensitivity. Pain threshold varies from person to person.
