Migraines are a complicated problem and should be approached together with your primary care provider. The first step is a comprehensive history. A part of the history is to identify headache triggers. Your particular trigger may be a food product or food additive found in a particular beverage, so you need to figure out first which beverages to avoid. Other individuals find some relief with certain beverages, such as those which contain caffeine, while other individuals have caffeine beverages as their trigger. Dehydration can also be a trigger for headache so frequent water intake may be helpful. Ginger tea may help with nausea and vomiting. Green smoothies and reduced fat milk may help with those who are deficient in vitamin B. Grape juice contains magnesium which may help with some headaches. Again, it is always good to work with a primary care provider since treating headaches is difficult and you may need to employ other strategies and may need to add over-the-counter and/or prescription medication to your regimen.
