What is better to take: #1-Stool softener #2-Suppositories or #3-Stimulant Laxative?

My family's had a bad problem with having regular bowel movements. I was wondering which one would be better, I have a problem every day having a bowel movement it hurts with stabbing and aching pain.

Complaint duration: Far back as I can remember.
Medications: Gabapentin and Suboxone
Conditions: None

Given that you take suboxone, you likely need both a stool softener and a stimulant such as a senna/docusate combination. Taking stimulants chronically can make you unable to have BM's without them, but being on the suboxone, you're just going to need to do it. Of course, eat plenty of veggies, drink plenty of water, and get plenty of exercises.
My opinion is that stool softeners are not helpful. They don't help the colon move at all. So I prefer to recommend both a stimulant laxative like Dulcolax and a purgative like Miralax. Taking both at the same time, even twice per day, is usually effective.
