“What is the after care for a piercing?”
I got my ear cartilage pierced yesterday. I am noticing some redness around the pierce and it also hurts when touched. What is the after care process that I should be following?

Keep the area clean, apply neosporin orpolysporin ointment.
There are possible explanations for your symptoms:
1. infection, not unusual after puncturing the body in some way
2. reaction to the piercing material, which you have not identified
4. reaction to a topical product touching your skin.
To fine tune among these options, a more detailed history would be needed. In the interim, apply some bacitracin ointment several times a day, UNLESS you know you are allergic to it.
