What is the cause of glaucoma?

I am a 45 year old male. I want to know what is the cause of glaucoma?

Typically, we cannot identify a cause. It does tend to run in families. It also depends on the type of glaucoma that you have.

There are different types of glaucoma with different causes. The most
common type in the US is called primary open angle glaucoma. It's
hereditary but with variable manifestations.
