What is the fastest acting anxiety medication?

I get anxiety attacks very often. Some medications act very late. What is the fastest acting anxiety medication?

That would probably be Xanax which has onset in 1/2 hour and lasts bout two hours. However that may not be the medication of choice since it also is the most habit forming of the anti-anxiety medication and can have dangerous withdrawal symptoms. One should also consider psychotherapy along with any medication that is used for treating anxiety
Alprazolam and Lorazepam are the two faster-acting medications but they are also highly addictive and should be taken only for panic attacks or severe anxiety attacks once in a while and not on a daily basis. They also increase the risk of falling in elderly people.
Xanax, but it's also the most addictive. If you suffer from panic attacks it's best to take an SSRI.
