I want to get a dental implant. I am afraid of the pain. What is the most painful part of a tooth implant?

If one were to take a look, placement of the implant would be the most uncomfortable. In general it is less painful than having a tooth extracted (pulled).
really they can be less painful that an extraction ! during the procedure with proper anesthesia it should be painless.
I find it surprising that almost every one of my patients says there is no pain involved with a dental implant. If there is an extraction, yes there can be some discomfort afterward, but not from the implant procedure itself. Very minimal or no discomfort.
It is a surgery. The pain is usually mild to moderate after for a few days.
Dental implant placement is the most uncomfortable part of the whole procedure but they are done under local anesthetic and patients do not feel anything. You can discuss with the dentist who is placing the implant as we do not place implants and we only restore the implants and would love to have u as a patient to restore the implants.
Once you are given local anesthesia, the procedure cannot hurt. May be little sore after but is easily managed with painkillers.
Paying for it. Seriously, some slight pain on day 1 manageable with pain meds (nonnarcotics) and after Aspirin or Tylenol.
