You will need prolozone therapy, prolotherapy, platelet-rich fibrin injections to heal ligaments post-lumbar surgery.

When cleared by the surgeon, you need to strengthen your core and back muscles.
The whole idea about PT after back surgery is to resotore/improve the stength of your back muscles and return you to your normal activitie. Initially you will just be involved in ankle pumps and heel slides, that shoule progress to abdominal contractions, heel raises, wall squats, leg raises, hamstring, hip flexor and piriformis stretches. At the end there is a set of spine stabilization program. They are all combined with aerobic exercices.
Depending on the specific type of surgery and the surgeon, physical therapy will be ordered 2-6 weeks after surgery. Physical Therapy would focus on light stretching, mobility exercises to regain range of motion, and light strengthening to begin with and then progress to postural and core strengthening.
The focus should be on isometric core strengthening and mobility
Hello! Before prescribing physical therapy services after a back Surgery a Doctor on Physical Therapy must perform a complete evaluation to se if there is any limitation on activities or restrictions in participation due to the surgery. Also the evaluation will give the health care professional the specific deficiencies that must be work on.
First and foremost follow your surgeons orders, he may have you restricted from some activities in the beginning. You need to be up walking and start exercises that target your core such as abdominal bracing exercises and postural exercises. I would advise you to request PT orders from your doctor after surgery.
