Physiatrist (Physical Medicine) Questions Tennis Elbow

What should I be doing for tennis elbow?

I have tennis elbow, but I don't have the insurance to go to physical therapy to have it corrected. Are there any exercises I can do at home to help?

I would be glad to give you some tips regarding home therapies and exercises for tennis elbow. I have free phone consultations which you can schedule on my social media pages on FB or IG. @chronicpainrescue
Usually, local anti-inflammatory medication and using a wrist brace can alleviate the symptoms. Other treatment available is PRP injection. You need to have a proper evaluation to find out what the source of the pain is.
Focus on correcting your posture. Make the larger joints work so that you aren't overusing your hand, wrist and elbow. Exercise your middle back and shoulders. Include overhead exercises.
Classically eccentric loading exercise for the wrist extensors should help. I would still see a physical therapist so they can teach you the proper technique and help you avoid further injury.
Poor you. Such a painful injury. Thousands of athletes suffer from this condition. Well, of course, it is not my job to recommend products or companies. I have no association with anyone and am certainly not in the business to promote companies. However, you have no insurance. I know some people have used kingbrand.com. Just check it out. You need to rest the elbow and it should be strapped or wrapped. Ice compresses to the area. It can take 6-12 months to heal. Stopping any exercise that may have caused it is imperative. It is of course an overuse Injury. You will know best what has started it. Surgery is not something you ought to even consider. I am off the old school RICE: Rest. Ice. Compression. Elevation. And patience. Lots of patience.
