The surgeon can give you meds to control
That , Zofran works great
Prior to the procedure, be sure to let the nurses know that you have this history of post operative nausea. From there they can administer different medications to assist with this including zofran, reglan, and compazine. They may also administer a steroid to further assist with nausea.
Hola patient,Prevent or relieve nausea and vomiting.they work blocking certain receptors in the brain .You can found over -the counter or need prescription .other is home remedies like ginger,Brat diet, small portions, clear liquids. example otc medication (Dramadine).
Most anesthesiologists provide multiple anti-nausea medications intraoperatively to help prevent postoperative nausea and vomiting. For patients like yourself who have a history of severe PONV, it is routine to have a scopolamine patch placed prior to surgery. The scopolamine patch medication lasts 3 days and helps reduce motion sickness with car travel after outpatient surgery.
The most important thing you can do is let your physician know ahead of time. Tell them that you have a history of nausea vomiting so they know to titrate the drugs given to you accordingly and can plan post op for appropriate drugs to be ordered to help relieve them.
