The blood test done for kidney function, to check how well the kidney are filtering the blood is called, GFR (Glomerular Filtration Rate). Also, a urine test to check your Albumin which is a protein that can go through the urine if there is a damage. This test is called urine albumin-creatinine ratio (uACR). Both tests are needed to have an accurate picture. Thank you.
That should be decided by your doctor. The two common tests of kidney function are serum creatinine and urine protein concentration.
