I have a disc hernia and want to fix it. What treatment is best for a disc hernia?

Depending on the size if disc herniation, there are several treatment options that are conservative and readily available.
Spinal disc herniations are one of the most common spine (neck and back) pain generators seen in practice. Treatments range from formal physical therapy and chiropractic care, epidural steroid injections, and surgery. However, all of these options have short comings. My practice focuses specifically on the evaluation and management of disc herniations and discogenic type injuries. My approach consists of Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression therapy. This gently, FDA cleared treatment utilizes advanced equipment to provide a low force, controlled load and unload cycle on the affected spinal disc. This creates a negative pressure within the disc, allowing disc material that has displaced (herniated vs. bulge) to slowly recede back into position. What does this mean for the patient? Pain relief, reduced compression on the affected nerve, and lasting relief. This procedure when performed with a physician of high clinical expertise and the appropriate table (NOT TRACTION), patients can expect over an 80% success rate. I hope this helps! If you are in the Youngstown Ohio area, I provide free initial consultations to evaluate the specific injury and case in question, and determine if I can help or not.
You are asking a complex question for the treatment is a disc herniation. First of all, is there radiation of pain or numbness to the arms or legs, second is there motor weakness, third are the deep tendon reflexes over-bounding?
These are symptoms of a severe level of injury. What are the MRI findings?
These are the things you and your Doctor need to discuss to determine your best treatment options. The most conservative options are Chiropractic and or Physical therapy, next is interventional pain management with the use of epidural steroids, and third is a surgical intervention. Discuss this with your Doctor to figure out your best option.
Mandatory spinal x-rays of injured area, (cervical or lumbar)..Then MRI of injured area. If disc hernia and depending on the degree of findings.. spinal manipulation would be a contraindication. Spinal decompression would be the most conservative. There is NO fix for disc herniations, only proper treatments.
Good afternoon Its hard to determine the best type of care without evaluating the patient and reviewing any MRI reports or diagnostic studies. This will give the practitioner a better understanding of the best type of care Whether its physical therapy, chiropractic care or medical Thank you *Golan Nissim D.C., A.R.T.,Q.M.E.* *Clinical Director* *10701 Riverside Dr., Suite B, Toluca Lake, CA 91602* *P:(818)766-4307 | F: (818)766-4309 * www.performancecareonline.com
