What type of anesthesia is used for kidney stone surgery?

I am a 56 year old female. I want to know what type of anesthesia is used for kidney stone surgery?

It depends on the specific surgery, but typically general anesthesia with a breathing tube. Spinal or epidural anesthesia is an option, but rarely selected by patients.
That is an excellent question for your surgeon and may depend on the type of “ surgery”: open flank incision, ureteroscope, or ultrasound.

General anesthesia is most commonly used.
