Local anesthesia or nerve blocks are used for most toenail surgeries.
Either just local anesthetic places in the surgical site alone were local anesthetic and light sedation.
local anesthetic around the toe area will be sufficient for any toenail procedure.
We will use a half-and-half mixture of local anesthetic including lidocaine and Marcaine, if the patient's toenail is infected sometimes we will use sodium bicarbonate to help the local anesthetic effectiveness by changing the pH in the area.
