When can I get my nose wet after rhinoplasty?

I will have nose plastic surgery. I want to know when can I get my nose wet after rhinoplasty?

I let my patients get their noses wet after rhinoplasty when the splints are removed. If you had a minor rhinoplasty procedure and no splints were required, I allow my patients to get their noses wet the day following surgery. Swimming is a different story and should probably be avoided - for at least 2 weeks.
Yes, as long as the dressing and or nasal splint does not get wet, it is ok. The restrictions would be directed by your surgeon.

This is something you should discuss with your plastic surgeon. Each surgeon's protocol is slightly different. For my patients, I ask them to keep their nose dry for 5 days, which is when we remove the nasal splint in the office.
After the splint and tapes have been removed and your doctor gives you permission.
Typically after rhinoplasty, you can get your nose wet in the shower once the dressing and sutures are removed. If you are wondering about swimming, you want to wait about 4 weeks before submerging your nose in the pool.
