“When is one recommended a spirometry test?”
My doctor has recommended me to undergo a spirometry test. What will I be able to tell from the results?

possible existence of lung disease such scarring- fibrosis, asthma, COPD, vocal cord problems, possible sources of shortness of breath and overall lung fitness and needs for oxygen supplementation among others
Spirometry is recommended whenever there is a question about lung function, for example in known or suspected asthma, emphysema, COPD, or fibrotic lung disease.
