Urologist Questions Urologist

Why am I getting UTIs so often?

I'm in my late teens. I masturbate a lot, usually when I'm studying, after a workout session, or after a hectic day at night. It can be more than once a day but not all days in the week. I'm a virgin and my family has a history of diabetes.

I take care of my diet and follow proper hygiene. I have no notable symptom of diabetes and eating a lot of sweets doesn't cause this reaction but vitamin C medicine intake causes this to get worse. I have been masturbating for about two and a half years now but these UTI issues just started recently. When I stop masturbating I have no issues. Is it because I masturbate a lot?

And because I go to school I intake several of those UTI medicines, are they harmful if I'm taking two a month? Last question, will masturbation interfere with my growth?

Masturbation does not interfere with growth.
Dear patient,

Maturation will have nothing to do with your growth and development. It probably has something to do with UTIs. I would suggest a visit to your doctor to make sure there is no diabetes in view of family history.

Are you sure these are urinary tract infections and not irritation from manipulation frequently? As far as I know, there is no health risk to masturbating and will not affect growth. It is not healthy to take antibiotics regularly as they change the healthy bacteria in your gut. You may want to try a lubricant when you masturbate to decrease the irritation. I recommend you take a probiotic for a few weeks. If these urinary symptoms continue, I recommend you see a gynecologist.
