Why are my gums swollen around my crown?

My gums are swollen around my crown. What could be the cause?

Theres a couple of reasons that can happen. Plaque or calculus buildup can be the culprit. Or if the margins of the crown are bulky they can cause irritation to the soft tissue. You should follow up with your dentist.
Or could be do to an infection specifically at him level of that tooth. It could be the way the crown was designed.
There can be a few reasons for that, but its important that you call your dental office and schedule a follow up appointment. There could be extra cement, retraction cord, infection, and more! Youll want a professional to evaluate it. Sincerely, Dr P
