Difficult to say, but it is very important to make sure the knee replacement isn't infected or maybe loose. Consult the operative surgeon.
There is a possibility you were dealing with a pinched nerve near your knee that is not happy with the replacement. Often times you can get this nerve electrically neutralize/cryotherapy that is usually paid for by insurance. I would visit a local orthopedic surgeon/sports medicine physician for further evaluation.

There could be numerous reasons for this to occur. I would recommend you seek a local PT for consultation on your individual case. God Bless and good luck
It's hard to tell without a full examination, but oftentimes, imbalances created by inactivity, improper form with activity, body weight, adherence to physical therapy plans and other factors can also contribute to pain. Considering the knee replacement it would be good for you to see your surgeon to make sure the hardware still looks good and to assess for those other triggers for pain as well.
That is a good question to ask your joint replacement surgeon.
One of several reasons are a possibility. First, most joints get stiff overnight due to immobility. If you’ve struggled with motion after knee replacement, that could be one reason. Second, anything that is causing pain in the body tends to reveal itself worse at night. I believe there are fewer distractions then, and the brain tends to remind itself of the ailments more. Third, it could be referred pain from elsewhere, either your hip or back, and with certain positions, this gets aggravated.

Whichever the reason, night pain is a common orthopedic complaint. And if it’s bothersome enough, it might be important to figure out which it is. Hope this helps.

Cortisol is a natural occurring very potent anti inflammatory that helps reduce pain. Cortisol level are lowest around midnight and highest in the morning. The low cortisol level results in increased pain at night
