I am a 52 year old male. I want to know why does my rectum burn after a colonoscopy?

That is usually due to the bowel preparation and the frequent bowel movements. You can apply Vaseline or Desitin, and should resolve in few days. If it doesn’t please contact your gastroenterologist.
It would be best to address this question to the MD who performed the colonoscopy.
