Why is my partial denture loose?

My partial dentures are loose. What could be the cause? Can it be fixed?

If your partial dentures have a metal framework then they can be adjusted by your dentist. He has the proper instruments to adjust (tighten) the clasps. Do not attempt this on your own as the clasps are fragile and you can easily break them off of the frame. If the partial is completely plastic then the dentist may need to return it to the lab for an adjustment.
Maybe the denture could be fixed- consult with your dentist to learn your options.
There are several reasons why your partial dentures are loose. The simplest cause would be that the clasps need to be tightened. This is an easy adjustment for a dentist to do and I would not recommend you do this yourself. It takes a special instrument with finesse to successfully adjust the clasps without breaking them. Another reason may be that your partials just no longer fit because they are too old or worn. Best plan is to follow up with your dentist for the correct diagnosis.
It is not uncommon for them to become loose. Very often they can be adjusted and tightened. Do not try this yourself.
The clasps of the part may have been bent and may need to be adjusted due to wear and tear. That is the usual problem with a part that is loose.  You will need to see a dentist get that adjusted or fixed, and yes it is a fixable problem usually.
