Why would a baby need a blood transfusion?

My 7 months old baby needs a blood transfusion according to the doctor. Why would a baby need a blood transfusion?

A baby needs blood transfusion for different reasons. For example, trauma, surgery, or diseases that causes a low red blood cells count. There has been bleeding before delivery. In addition, the baby maybe has an infection. Let’s say your baby has low platelet count and is bleeding they have to give blood to the baby. Thank you.
Obviously, because the baby is anemic. This may be due to diets such as lack of an essential mineral or vitamin (although transfusions rare in such a case), or more likely a blood disease such as aplastic anemia or leukemia.

Not enough iron and bleeding are some reasons.

A baby would need a blood transfusion because they are anemic (too low red blood cell count). You need to ask the physician why the baby needs the transfusion and if the physician has looked for reasons that the baby is anemic. If the physician has not looked for reasons, you should be referred to a pediatric hematologist.
