Proctologist Questions Diverticulitis

Can you recommend an appropriate diet for diverticulitis?

I have been diagnosed with diverticulitis and the doctor has started out treating me for it. I have been told that diverticulitis can be best managed with a diet. Can you recommend an appropriate diet for this?

A high fiber diet consisting of increased intake of fruits and vegetables is recommended. Chewing your food well will also be helpful.
Avoid seeds and nuts and too much ruffle. Sometimes diverticulitis requires antibiotics and/or surgery.
A high fiber diet after the acute attack of diverticulitis resolves.
