Infectious Disease Specialist Questions Measles

Are the measles contagious?

My eldest son was diagnosed with the measles. He's currently on treatment, but I'm scared that my daughter could also catch this disease. Is my daughter at risk?

Highly contagious infection, 90% of close contacts not immunized will develop the infections. The patient remains contagious 4 days before the rash starts and 4 days after the skin rash has resolved.
Measles is highly contagious to anyone who has not been vaccinated, but not to anyone who has been vaccinated.
But your daughter is not at risk if she's been vaccinated.
