Patients can choose to have a general anesthesia but most patients are fine with I.V. conscious sedation.
Hello, it depends on whether you're having upper or lower lid surgery or combination, your surgeon and you. I prefer doing all procedures under sedation. It is safer and more comfortable for the patient. For further inquiries or questions, you may want to visit my website at DrRoyamd@aol.com. Good Luck!!!!
Typically not, but we give patients the option. Those who are anxious or would prefer to be sedated have that option.
Eyelid surgery does not require full General anesthesia. Often it is done with mild sedation.
Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. In most cases you are given conscious sedation or what most call a "twilight". The surgeon may intentionally wake you during surgery to smile and blink, to determine the amount of skin to remove.
Thank you for the question. Eyelid surgery can be done under straight local anesthesia with or without sedation or under general anesthesia. This can be discussed with your surgeon during your consultation and either way it usually works well. Good luck to you.
Not necessarily. A lot of experienced, board certified surgeons do the procedure both under general and/or local anesthesia. The decision as to anesthesia Is mutually agreed upon by both the patient and doctor.
You can be put to sleep for eyelid surgery. However most practitioners perform I would surgery under local anesthesia or with slight amounts of sedation.
