“I had a blood clot on my index finger which is now less painful after ice pack. Should I still test it?”
My finger got stuck in the car door, which caused a blood clot. Though it was very painful, it is better after keeping an ice pack on it. Should I still see if its fractured? What would happen if it is?

It is important to always seek a medical evaluation by a licensed professional to ensure it is not the manifestation of something more serious. You also want to seek help sooner rather than later to prevent any further damage to the area.
Finger swelling and bleeding are the main symptoms of a finger fracture. Even hand surgeons can't always tell if the finger is broken without an X-ray. I think you should see someone (could start with family doctor) for an X-ray.
Blood under the nail after trauma could be just bruising or it could represent a fracture. The only way to surely tell is with an X-ray. A fracture may be minimal, but may also represent a tendon avulsion or joint injury that needs further care.
