Can a chiropractor be beneficial after childbirth?

I am a 28 year old female. I gave birth a few months ago and my body feels off. Can a chiropractor be beneficial after childbirth?

Yes! Great question. Pelvic and lower back misalignment with associated pain symptoms are common before and after childbirth. Chiropractic care is helpful on both sides of the spectrum. I have treated many expectant mothers and have been told by those who had children without chiropractic care during pregnancy that it was like night and day. Shorter time in labor and easier delivery. Chiropractic is also good for children of all ages. Works great on colic and improves immune system response. I have adjusted up expecting mothers throughout the entire pregnancy as well as their newborns once delivered. I even adjusted my children before my wife held the child for first time.
Absolutely. The birthing process is very stressful both physically and emotionally. Adjustments afterwards are very helpful to getting your body back on that road to recovery. I personally love seeing the baby as well, as the birthing process is also stressful for them.

Absolutely we have found Chiropractic both prenatal as well as postnatal to be incredibly beneficial. While pregnant your hormones are softening and stretching ligaments to expand the pelvis to allow for the birth of the baby. Though this process necessary it also creates instability and vulnerability to the spine and surrounding nerves. This is why symptoms like sciatica (excruciating pain down the leg) and carpal tunnel (pain in wrist into hand) are very common during and after pregnancy.
If you are considering Chiropractic for your spine there is no better time than after the birth of your child. It’s a no brainer for pain relief but can also help with stress relief from sleepless nights and fatigue. Good luck and happy adjusting.
Yes chiropractic can help after childbirth. Your body has stretched and changed over the last 9 months to make room for your baby and prepare for birth. Getting adjusted after giving birth can help realign your spine and hips back into a good stable position as all your ligaments start to tighten back up. Additionally it can help those areas that feel off because they are misaligned and not as stable as before pregnancy.
Hello.

Childbirth can put a great amount of stress on the body. Chiropractic care can be beneficial following childbirth to alleviate pain and reduce muscle tension.
Absolutely! Childbirth is very traumatic on your body. You will probably see very profound results from good chiropractic care.

Hi!

Yes! Having the newborn (and mom) adjusted after childbirth is very beneficial, as much trauma has occurred during the birthing process.
Thank you and congratulations!

Chiropractic has been found to be beneficial to pregnant and post partem women. During pregnancy your body produces hormones to help relax certain ligaments in your body to get ready for labor. After labor, there is a transition period where you have lost a good bit of weight (from giving birth, congrats!) but your ligaments are still somewhat lax. This can cause one to "feel off" as you put it. Add to it the new positions you find yourself in while holding/feeding your newborn and you have can develop what we call "new mom neck"; pain and tightness in your neck and sometimes upper back. This is just an example. The bottom line is that it is almost always recommended to see a chiropractor during and/or after a pregnancy. Most of your energy will be going into taking care of your new bundle, but remember it is also important to take care of yourself so you can continue to care for your child. Congratulations, and good luck!
Yes, chiropractic alignment can absolutely help realign your spine and your hips which do get misaligned after going through giving birth.
Yes!! In fact I encourage you and take your baby too. As the twig is bent so grows the tree. I love children being adjusted regularly as they grow up.
I have been treating females before, during and after childbirth forever and a day. The most important thing is to be gentle. From the beginning of the pregnancy through the months to after the delivery the female is producing a hormone that loosens up the muscles and ligaments. Therefore she become more vulnerable to force. You want a Doctor of Chiropractic that is gentle.

Absolutely. It is common that a woman's hips get out of alignment with giving birth. A thorough adjustment should include the spine and extremities. Mom's can expect instant relief with chiropractic care.
Yes, giving birth causes a lot of changes to your body. Chiropractic can help those changes get back to normal.
It can offer massive relief as your body recovers
