Can acid reflux cause harm to my esophagus?

I'm 23 and I have issues with acid reflux, and sometimes it's so bad that I feel like I have to stay home from work because of it. Can acid reflux eventually cause harm to my esophagus?

Yes, it can. Bad reflux can cause strictures of the esophagus and even increase risk of esophageal cancer. If you have bad acid reflux, then it deserves a proper work up with an EGD by a GI specialist.
