Can an ear infection cause eye discharge?

My son has an ear infection and eye pain. I want to know if an ear infection can cause eye discharge?

Sometimes certain organisms are known to cause both "conjunctivitis" (an eye infection) as well as an "otitis" (an ear infection). Your pediatrician should always look in your child's ears whenever s/he has a conjunctivitis, because the combination may require different medication than just one or the other.

There are times when a child has an ear infection along with eye discharge - that is not unusual - but the eye should not hurt.
Yes, especially young children like < 2-3 year-old.
