Chiropractor Questions Back Pain

Can chiropractors diagnose back conditions?

I have lower back pain and my doctor couldn't really find what was causing it. Can chiropractors help diagnose conditions, or do I need to get referred to one first?

In most states, you do not need a referral, as chiropractors are often primary care or portal of entry physicians. Chiropractors specialize in conditions of the spine, so for back problems, a chiropractor would be my first stop. In many states, chiropractors are not limited to spinal diagnoses, either. Make sure the chiropractor that you do see takes a detailed history and performs a thorough examination.
A chiropractor would be my first choice for most back conditions.
A chiropractor is more trained in the muscular-skeletal system than an MD. Therefore, he/she should help your condition.
